This class will educate the attendee about OSHA’s Recommended Practices for Safety and Health Programs. I will discuss the six major components that make up a Safety and Health Program and then examine the parts that make up the individual components. If you want to know what a formal, written safety program should look like, this is the class for you!

This advanced safety course explores the tools and methods for conducting a thorough investigation that identifies root causes to help prevent similar events from happening again. In this way, employers will reduce the risk of death and/or injury to workers or the community or environmental damage. By using root cause analysis to prevent similar events, employers can avoid unnecessary costs resulting from business interruption, emergency response and clean-up, increased regulation, audits, inspections, and OSHA or EPA fines.

Working in a warehouse can be dangerous! With the unique challenges warehouses bring, it is vital for businesses to be prepared for employee training, accountability, and emergency measures. In this class we will cover the major hazards found in the warehouse industry including forklifts, proper storing of materials, hazardous energy, conveyer belts, as well as lifting and other ergonomic concerns.

Overview of PPE needed for various welding operations

Class will focus on multiple perspectives for compliance with OSHA Silica in Construction standard – 29 CFR 1926.1153.    This will include lines of inquiry of OSHA Compliance Officers on enforcement inspections, and employer considerations for compliance with Table 1 – proposed control measures for common tasks/equipment on construction sites with silica exposure.   The class will also address Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ’s), and provide an opportunity for attendees to engage in role play if faced with workplace exposure scenarios (i.e. viewing photos of silica exposure on construction sites). Aspects of exposure to silica in general industry, along with compliance considerations,  will be addressed as well.

This 1-hour class is designed to provide participants with a general knowledge of heavy equipment safety through equipment safety inspections, equipment walk-around inspections, toolbox talks and other resources.

The OSHA 10-hour general industry class provides basic safety and health information and education. It is intended to provide workers with awareness of common job-related safety and health hazards, but does not fulfill an employer’s requirement to provide training under specific OSHA standards. Workers and employers will be taught the basics of recognition, avoidance, abatement, and prevention of safety and health hazards in workplaces in general industry. Through this training, the workplace can gain another set of eyes to identify hazards, and prevent or correct them before they become serious. Please note that employees will still need to be trained by their employer as this course is not specific enough to meet the training requirements of OSHA standards.

Notes: This is a 10-hour course held over two days.
