Randy began working full time as an Occupational Safety and Health specialist for the US Air Force in 2008. In that position he was responsible for Confined Space Program Management, Lock-out Tag-out programs, Workplace Safety Training Plans, and Risk Analysis for all high-hazard programs for a diverse workforce consisting of over 4,500 military and civilian personnel. He has conducted JSA’s for various occupations including Office Workers, Child Care Providers, Heavy Equipment Operators, Carpenters, Machinist, Electricians and even Ammunition Handlers.
He has a Masters of Science from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University with a specialization in Management and a specialization in Safety. Randy is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor for Embry Riddle teaching classes in Aeronautical Science and Occupational Safety.
Randy is currently the Employee Safety & Risk Manager for the Idaho Transportation Department (ITD), with responsibilities that include Employee Safety Program Management, Accident Prevention, Mishap Investigation and Risk Management. ITD has around 1700 employees scattered through 6 districts across the state.
